Recently, Appeltants Consulting was invited for an interview to discuss the current state-of-affairs. Below is an extract from the Q&A.

Welcome Mr. Appeltants to our company interview.

Thanks for having me.

Can you tell us something about the firm Appeltants Consulting?

Appeltants Consulting is a small firm based in Limburg, Hasselt - build around logistics, warehousing and technology. Basically, we offer implementation services for SAP Warehousing Solutions. We are application experts in SAP Extended Warehouse Mgmt. On top, we have strong experience in related areas as storage and transport of dangerous goods, quality management and manufacturing integration.

Hasselt? Is that not a bit located out of the way for a consulting company?

Not at all.

We are located in the heart of the EUREGIO, with close proximity to all kind of distribution hubs: Limburg, Antwerp, Eindhoven and Venlo, Nordrhein-Westfalen. All are located in a one hour drive range.

Furtheron, we believe that in the post-corona era, people will avoid crowdy cities and traffic. ‘De-densification’ they call it. I think it makes sense, at least in Western Europe. We work part from home or in a small group in our Hasselt office and part at customer site.

Is that the weekly working mode?

Yes. Flexibility has become the new normal. We only see advantages. Less stress, greener environment. We just want to live and work locally.

Appeltants Consulting delivers expert services for SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) implementation projects.

From design phase to go live support, you can trust on our craftsmanship build up during multiple end-to-end implementations. We have gained in-depth experience in a variety of warehouse environments in Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany and Skandinavia.  

When at work we focus on the job, when not, enjoy family and the good life. Honestly, we don’t want to waste too much time inbetween.

SAP S/4HANA is already well introduced in the market. Had this any consequences on SAP’s warehousing solution landscape?

Sure. SAP EWM offers basically 2 deployment modes: Decentralized EWM on S/4HANA, as well as embedded EWM on S/4HANA. We are currently involved in both types of projects.

Besides, SAP’s warehouse solutions are being delivered in a more simple and intuitive way to the user.  That is intriguing. In the end, you want to bring the training effort for end-users to almost zero. Compare it with a Google-App: easy-to-use with in the background advanced engineering at work!

Finally, why would customers prefer a service-partnership with Appeltants Consulting instead of turning to a big consulting company?

As a small organisation, we have a very personal and direct line with the customer. We fit in big international projects as well as deliver expertise for smaller and medium sized companies.
